The Gray Man

12/5/19

.

A little gray car with the little gray man;
I wish to get past him as quick as I can.
For I have heard tales of his terrible gaze;
That those who annoy him go missing in days.

He must have some power which makes him a fright;
That even grown men feel a shudder at night.
Where he may have come from no one dares to ask;
The guy who once tried it turned up in a cask.

His trips into town are a gasping occurrence;
The folks he encounters just give him deference.
Small kids run home crying and ladies near faint;
The meanest of dogs turn in fear of his taint.

So now that he’s here I’ll get out of his way;
Return to my bed for the rest of the day.
And if your small head has an ounce of a brain;
You too will rush home where you’ll follow the same.
